To ensure everyone can follow and get the most out of the course, you’ll need:
- A computer capable of running virtual machines (Kali or your preferred OS)
- Basic knowledge. As a guideline, you need to have completed chapter 1 & 2 and read the theory of chapter 3 and 4 of the Offensive Security Pathway on Udemy (~20 EUR / ~23 USD)
- A Hack The Box account + Active Pro Labs subscription (~44 EUR / ~50 USD per month)

What exactly is Shell Sessions?
Shell Sessions is a hands-on ethical hacking training for people who want to learn by doing. You won’t sit through endless slides — instead, you’ll work directly on real-world hacking labs with expert guidance and practical challenges.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes — and not just a boring PDF (that you will also get)! You’ll earn a trophy-style certificate to show off your achievement, skill, and commitment on the wall.
I completed the training — when and how will I receive my certificate?
After completing the course, your Shell Sessions certificate (PDF) will be emailed to you. Your “wall-trophy” certificate will be sent by post within 4 weeks of course completion. Please allow additional time for postal delivery, as this can sometimes take several weeks depending on the destination. The “wall-trophy” certificate will be sent only once to the address you provided during registration (not the billing address). If you have not received your certificate within 8 weeks after finishing the course, it may have been lost in transit. Unfortunately, this can occasionally happen, especially with long-distance shipments. We understand this is disappointing, but please note that we are unable to reissue lost certificates.
What if I need to cancel?
You’ll find our general terms and conditions here, but in short:
- Cancel 14+ days in advance: Full refund
- Cancel 4–14 days in advance: 50% refund
- Cancel <4 days before the course: No refund
- You can also transfer your seat to a colleague or friend if you let us know at leats 4 days before the course
Can I ask questions during the sessions?
Definitely! The trainer is live and available throughout. You’ll receive real-time support, explanations, and coaching during the labs.
How long is my seat reserved after registering?
Your seat will be reserved for 4 weeks after you complete the registration form. If payment is not completed within this period, your seat will be released and made available to others. Once payment is received, your seat will be permanently secured.
Why is the 28-hour course divided into 7 blocks of 4 hours?
Since our training is offered worldwide, dividing the course into 7 blocks of 4 hours each allows us to schedule sessions at convenient times for participants across different time zones. Additionally, shorter blocks help maintain focus and improve concentration, making the learning experience more effective and manageable.
The standard training sessions take place from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Central European Time (CET). Since our training is offered internationally, the table below provides time conversions for several common time zones. Please note that all dates and times are based on CET, and it is your responsibility to adjust these to your local time zone.
